women@GaLaBau 2026: New Network Launches Successfully

The GaLaBau in Nuremberg has long been the central platform for the garden and landscape construction industry in Germany. With the new format women@GaLaBau, the 2026 trade fair has opened an additional chapter that generated positive feedback right from its launch. The initiative aims to make women in the green industry more visible, to network them, and to empower them in the long term – and the start appears to have succeeded.

A new format with a clear mission

From September 15 to 18, 2026, GaLaBau opened its doors at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center, providing a stage for the launch event of women@GaLaBau. The project was implemented by the specialist media brand TASPO in cooperation with the trade fair. The goal is to create a platform where women from garden and landscape construction can contact each other, exchange ideas, and strengthen one another – a target group that has had little visibility of its own in the male-dominated industry.

The concept is deliberately designed to be accessible: networking is at the center, complemented by content impulses around the professional challenges and opportunities for women in the green industry. The launch at the trade fair marks not the end, but the beginning of a long-term community.

From the trade fair to everyday life: What comes next

What distinguishes this format from classic networking events is the planned continuity beyond the fair days. Following the launch meeting in Nuremberg, local women's roundtables, regular webinars, and a permanent digital platform are to follow. In this way, women@GaLaBau responds to a need that has apparently been dormant in the industry for some time: a space where women can exchange ideas independently of the trade fair calendar.

Integration into a larger supporting program

GaLaBau 2026 overall places strong emphasis on thematic special formats that go beyond the classic exhibition business. In addition to women@GaLaBau, these include the GREEN-BLUE PATH for sustainable green and open space solutions, the FUTURE SPACE, specialist discussions and landscape talks, as well as the startups@GaLaBau format, which provides a platform for young companies. A demonstration area and e-mobility area also invite visitors to try things out in practice. This diversity shows: the trade fair increasingly sees itself not just as a trading platform, but as a place for exchange, further education, and societal debates within the industry.

The opening times of GaLaBau 2026 followed a classic staggered schedule: from Tuesday to Thursday, the Nuremberg Exhibition Center was open from 9:00 to 18:00, and on Friday the fair closed one hour earlier, at 17:00. This structure provided sufficient time to participate in special formats like women@GaLaBau in addition to the regular trade fair visit.

Resonance gives reason for more

The desire for continuation, which expressed itself immediately after the launch event, suggests that women@GaLaBau has touched a nerve. For an industry increasingly grappling with skilled labor shortages and the question of new target groups for training and careers, a format like this can be more than just a nice supporting program – it can become a strategic building block for the future of the industry. By giving women in garden and landscape construction a targeted voice and space, women@GaLaBau could in the long term help make the profession more diverse and attractive overall.

Outlook

With the launch at GaLaBau 2026, the foundation for a new community has been laid. Whether and how the announced roundtables, webinars, and the digital platform establish themselves in practice will become apparent in the coming months. What is certain, however, is that the demand is there, and so is the desire for more. For the industry, this could be the beginning of sustainable change – far beyond the exhibition halls in Nuremberg.
