KPA Leipzig/Schkeuditz: Successful Trade Show Launch in Central Germany

With KPA – Kunststoff Produkte Aktuell – Easyfairs has taken another step forward in its regional trade show concept for the plastics industry. On 16 and 17 September 2026, the specialist trade fair celebrated its premiere at the Globana Event Campus in Schkeuditz near Leipzig – attracting expert visitors from all over Central Germany for the first time.

Successful Premiere in Numbers

The inaugural KPA Leipzig/Schkeuditz can speak for itself: 97 exhibitors presented themselves to 1,013 visitors from the plastics processing industry and related user industries. According to organizer Easyfairs, more than 70 percent of the exhibition space was already booked just four months before the event – a clear signal of the industry's interest in a new venue in the region.

Third Pillar for the KPA Series

With Leipzig/Schkeuditz, Easyfairs is expanding the existing KPA venues of Ulm and Bad Salzuflen with a third event, thus closing a previously existing regional gap in the trade show offering for the plastics industry. The central location in Saxony and good accessibility from Dresden, Leipzig, Halle and Chemnitz make the new venue attractive for specialists from all eastern German federal states.

The target audience includes in particular design engineers, developers, procurement managers and decision-makers from user industries such as the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, medical technology and semiconductor industry – sectors that are traditionally strongly represented in Central Germany.

Clear Industry Focus

The exhibitor structure of KPA Leipzig/Schkeuditz showed a clear focus from the outset: More than half of the registered companies came from the field of plastics processing businesses. These were supplemented by tool and mold makers, suppliers of materials and raw materials, as well as service providers along the entire process chain. Exhibitors included Werner Langer, Röchling Industrial Lützen, Silcos, Pallentin Industries, Lakowa, 3D-Werk Black Forest, Wunder Formenbau, TSW Thenhausen, Gear Motion, Grässlin Kunststoffe and MKV Kunststoffgranulate.

Several exhibitors who were already familiar with KPA from the Ulm or Bad Salzuflen venues particularly highlighted the shorter distances, regional networking and additional contacts in an industrially characterized region. The fair management rated the response as clear confirmation of the choice of location Leipzig.

Specialist Accompanying Program

The premiere was accompanied by a content-rich supporting program. Parallel to the trade fair, the Central German Plastics Day took place, which addressed topics from politics and business, while KPA itself focused on the industrial practice of plastics processing and its practical applications. New was also the Polykum Design Café, which brought industry and design together and thus provided an additional expert impulse.

KPA Leipzig/Schkeuditz received specialist support from, among others, Polykum, Fraunhofer IMWS, the Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid and the Kunststoff-Netzwerk Franken. These partnerships underscore the fair's claim to offer not only exhibition space but also genuine specialist added value – from compact booths through personal conversations to concrete practical knowledge directly from companies.

Outlook: KPA Ulm 2027 with New Record

With the successful premiere in Central Germany, it becomes clear that the KPA format also works beyond the established venues. At the same time, existing events are continuing to develop: On 24 and 25 February 2027, KPA will open its doors again on the grounds of Ulm Trade Fair – with more than 360 exhibitors expected, a new record that further confirms the continuous development of the format.

Exhibitors thus have several attractive options in 2026 and 2027 for targeted presence in the plastics industry. The focus remains on compact, clearly industry-oriented formats that provide market visibility, short distances to relevant contacts and concrete business development.

Conclusion

The launch of KPA Leipzig/Schkeuditz has been successful: With nearly 100 exhibitors and over 1,000 visitors, the new venue has immediately established itself as a worthwhile addition to Ulm and Bad Salzuflen. The combination of industrial practical focus, regional industry networks and accompanying specialist program seems to strike a chord with the Central German plastics industry. Whether this successful start will continue in future editions remains to be seen – but the stage is set for a long-term established third KPA venue.
