Heimtextil 2026: New Talent Area Continues to Grow

Heimtextil in Frankfurt am Main has once again established itself as a central platform for the international home and contract textile industry. From January 12-15, 2026, over 3,000 exhibitors from 148 nations came together to present their latest collections, materials and textile solutions to more than 48,000 buyers. Under the motto "Lead the Change," the fair focused on progressive design approaches, functional textiles and new hospitality concepts – and prominently featured: a noticeably expanded New Talent Area.

Stability in a volatile market environment

Despite challenging economic conditions, Heimtextil 2026 proved to be a reliable touchstone for the industry. The international exhibitor share reached 96 percent, with the top ten exhibitor countries including China, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The global relevance of the fair was also reflected in visitor numbers: with an internationality rate of 86 percent, Heimtextil recorded increases from the USA, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland and Peru, among others. Particularly noteworthy was the significant increase in the share of top decision-makers to 78 percent – a clear signal of the fair's strategic importance for procurement decisions and market exploration.

New Talent Area as a stage for visionary talents

A central element of this year's reorientation was the significantly expanded New Talent Area in Trend Hall 6.1. The space, which for the first time launched curated by Trendease, provided a platform for emerging designers to present their visions to an international professional audience. This underscores Heimtextil's commitment to not only showcasing established brands but also providing young textile talent with a visible stage.

Trendease curates the emerging talent sector

The collaboration with Trendease as a curating partner marks an important step in the strategic development of the area. The goal is to specifically bring young talents together with buyers and industry representatives, thereby introducing fresh impulses for design, materials and sustainability into the value chain. The growing attention to this sector demonstrates that innovative talent development is increasingly becoming a permanent part of the fair's concept.

Additional new spaces expand the offering

In addition to the New Talent Area, Heimtextil 2026 set new structural accents. For the first time, the new "Flooring & Equipment" area was presented in halls 11 and 12, where textile and non-textile floor coverings – from carpets to parquet – were bundled together. The offering was complemented by the curated special space "The Future Floor" including an attached talk spot for knowledge transfer regarding materiality and space design.

The portfolio in the Bed, Bath & Living sector also continued to develop: with "Sleep & Meet" in hall 4.0, the fair sharpened its profile for the mattress and sleep industry, while subsequently the new "Comfort & Connect" space in the foyer of hall 5.1 was announced. There, high-quality bed, bath and lifestyle collections from established brands and international buyers will in future come together in a central, easily accessible location.

Conclusion and Outlook

Heimtextil 2026 has demonstrated that it is not only gaining importance as a global trading place but also as a catalyst for innovation and talent development. With the expanding New Talent Area, the new Flooring & Equipment segment and the further development of the Bed, Bath & Living offering, the fair is sending clear signals for the coming years. The next edition of Heimtextil takes place January 12-15, 2027 in Frankfurt am Main – with a further refined profile, for example in the Carpets & Rugs sector, which according to Messe Frankfurt is to receive a new structure and a premium segment. The industry can look forward with anticipation to how these new formats will establish themselves in the long term.
