From September 30 to October 2, 2026, the Dutch nursery region of Zundert will transform once again into an international industry meeting point. Under the motto "Growing Together", GrootGroenPlus enters its 36th edition and confirms its position as one of Europe's most important trade fairs for the nursery and plant industry. Anyone wanting to understand the green industry can hardly afford to miss this date.

A Motto as Program

Following the success of last year's theme "Hart voor Groen", the organizers are deliberately focusing on collaboration as a guiding principle in 2026. "Growing Together" is intended to reflect the collaborative nature of the nursery industry and bring together professionals from different countries, disciplines and sectors. The message is clear: innovation does not happen in isolation, but through shared exchange between breeders, nurseries, suppliers and landscape experts.

Over more than three decades of continuous growth, the fair has developed from a regional event into one of the most important meeting places in the European nursery industry. It combines commercial exchange, professional expertise and networking in one of the continent's most dynamic horticultural regions – not least thanks to its proximity to the Belgian border, which attracts international visitors and exhibitors alike.

GreenGrandPrix and Novelty Trials in Focus

A central component of the trade fair remains the testing of novelties by the Koninklijke Vereniging voor Boskoopse Culturen (KVBC) in combination with the GreenGrandPrix. This test was created to convey to end consumers not only the external qualities of a plant, but above all to make visible the breeding performance behind it.

The philosophy of the GreenGrandPrix is remarkably practice-oriented: a plant that receives a certain certification must subsequently maintain it consistently and can be tested again to evaluate further aspects. An expert panel assesses, among other things, the quality of the plant's root system and foliage quality. This system ensures continuous quality control that goes far beyond a one-time award and provides long-term guidance to the industry.

Space for New Ideas

Beyond classical trials, GrootGroenPlus places great emphasis on giving new ideas a platform. The "Plein van Morgen" (Square of Tomorrow) initiative is being continued and continues to offer companies the opportunity to present innovative concepts and developments. The underlying idea remains unchanged: creating space for what will drive the industry tomorrow.

Additionally, the organizers are working on the implementation of special events on Thursday and Friday of the fair. A specially designed program for buyers ensures that important international decision-makers from various countries are specifically invited to GrootGroenPlus. In this way, the fair positions itself not only as an exhibition space, but also as a strategic platform for business networking at the international level.

Registration and Outlook

Interested companies can continue to register as exhibitors – however, the organizers advise against waiting too long, as visitor registration will be activated on the official website shortly. Both visitor registration and applications for the buyer program and submissions for novelty trials take place via the official GrootGroenPlus website and the fair's free mobile app.

With its motto "Growing Together", GrootGroenPlus once again emphasizes that the future of the nursery industry lies in close collaboration. For exhibitors, breeders and buyers from across Europe, the 36th edition in Zundert thus offers once again a unique opportunity to exchange expertise, discover innovations and together set new impulses for the green industry.
