Domotex: Leadership Change at the World's Leading Trade Fair

Deutsche Messe AG is making a significant leadership change at its international leading trade fair for flooring and interior design: As of February 1, 2026, Annette Levy takes on the position of project manager of Domotex. She is succeeding her predecessor after the previous Global Director leaves the company on her own initiative to pursue new professional challenges.

Personnel Change with Announcement

The change in leadership at Domotex comes at a strategically significant time, shortly after the conclusion of Domotex 2026, which took place from January 19-22 in Hannover. The departing Global Director is leaving Deutsche Messe AG at the end of January 2026, according to her own statements, to pursue new professional perspectives. The management of the trade fair company emphasizes that with Annette Levy, a successor has been found who brings profound industry knowledge and many years of experience in the international trade fair business.

25 Years of Experience at Deutsche Messe

Annette Levy brings an impressive track record: She has been working for Deutsche Messe AG for 25 years and has extensive experience in the strategic development of international leading events. Since 2020, she has been part of the Domotex team, where she has been responsible for multiplier and visitor management. In this role, she was instrumental in the conceptual development and successful establishment of the Retailers Park – an important format within the Domotex ecosystem. In the future, she will serve as the central point of contact for all matters related to the trade fair.

Domotex 2026: Portfolio Expansion as a Success Factor

The leadership change occurs during a phase in which Domotex has repositioned itself in terms of content and concept. For the first time, Domotex 2026 integrated wall and ceiling systems, paints, wallpapers, and sun protection solutions into the exhibition spectrum. This expansion reflects the trade fair's ambition to establish itself as the "Home of Flooring & Interior Finishing" and to bridge the gap between classic flooring and comprehensive interior design solutions.

The latest edition of the trade fair recorded more than 500 exhibitors from over 50 countries, as well as more than 170 new exhibitors participating in Hannover for the first time. The event was accompanied by a comprehensive conference program that included, among other things, a session on procurement within the German Armed Forces – a format that offered companies from the craft, industrial, and furnishing industries exclusive insights into procurement processes and concrete business opportunities in the public sector.

Voices from the Industry

On the successful reorientation of the trade fair, Arno Reich, Senior Vice President of Deutsche Messe AG, expressed himself as follows: "DOMOTEX has reinvented itself and shown us all that it pays off to boldly take new paths. DOMOTEX 2026 sets new standards for the entire industry. Both exhibitors and visitors have given consistently positive feedback. The trade fair conveys a clear sense of renewal and provides the perfect platform for bringing together the international community of the flooring and interior design industry."

The new project manager herself also positively assesses the further development of the trade fair in terms of content: "DOMOTEX has successfully evolved in terms of content and concept – while not losing its roots in flooring. The expansion to include wall and ceiling products was exactly the right step and created new synergies that were palpable throughout the entire trade fair grounds. It is precisely this interdisciplinary exchange that makes DOMOTEX a global industry meeting point", emphasizes Annette Levy.

Outlook: Continuity Despite Change

With the upcoming leadership change, Deutsche Messe AG is focusing on continuity in the strategic direction of Domotex. The deep market knowledge and the close connection to the Domotex ecosystem that Annette Levy has built through her many years of work are considered important prerequisites for the further development of the event as an international trade fair for flooring and interior design.

For the industry, this change means above all one thing: The successful repositioning of Domotex, which has already proven itself in the latest edition with the expansion to include wall, ceiling, and interior design products, is to be consistently continued. The next edition of Domotex will take place every two years in Hannover as usual – with Annette Levy as the central point of contact at the head of the fair team, the industry will be eager to see what further impulses the internationally-oriented leading trade fair for flooring and interior furnishings will provide in the coming years.
